Historical collections

Historical collection looks useless from a distance. But a closer analysis of the wealth of information contained therein prove otherwise.

Many institutions destroy important records that would make a worthy history of the organisations. Even the 'valueless' ephemera will turn out to be objects of important research in 100 years time.
Having worked in NHS Scotland Archives on work placement I have come to realise that we need to value the information we are producing today. It will make a difference to future generations if we preserve it. For instance, my hospital records might me used to explain medical conditions of my great grand children in future.
